Day 37: Feed My Lamb

On 8 April 2020, YEF members meditated on John 21:15-16.

The following is a reflection by one of the members:

If we truly love Jesus, this is what He calls us to do: to feed and take care of His lambs. We indeed must love the lambs that belong to Jesus. Although we all have different skills and strengths, the one thing that is consistent for all is that we must learn to care for one another.

Jesus is the true shepherd. If we look and learn from Jesus in how He cares for His lambs, we can see that He truly has true love that even approaching the cross, He never stopped comforting His lambs. This kind of love by human standards is almost impossible. We will find very quickly that when lambs criticise or hurt us, it is very easy to stop loving them. Yet, we still should love them because we love God. And not stop loving them because they hurt us.

This is harder than it looks. But we must really seek God and for Him to speak and act through us rather than we act by our own actions. 1 Corinthians 13 tells us how love should look like. Indeed this is the love of Christ that we are experiencing as well. Amen.
