On 30th March 2020, YEF Singapore meditated on John 20:1-10.

In this passage, Mary went to the tomb of Jesus early in the morning only to find the tombstone being rolled away. This is the scene of Jesus’ resurrection. Mary saw the stone rolled away and went to tell the disciples of this peculiar phenomenon.

One member shared her reflection:

Mary Magdalene found out that Jesus was missing and told Peter and John, who then tried to look for Jesus. We can truly see the love of Mary Magdalene who stayed with Jesus all the way to the cross and finally even in death. She truly loved God and wanted to serve Him wholeheartedly. She knew this was the truth and how she was forgiven of her sins. [Luke 8:1-3]

Despite it being dark, Mary went to the grave with the intention to seek Jesus. Her faith and love for God really can be seen. This is the kind of devotion we should have as well. Apart from her, Peter and John also really loved Jesus. We see how they ran towards the tomb and have that kind of yearning towards Jesus.
