Day 5: I am the Way, the Truth and the Life

On 2 March 2020, YEF members meditate on John 14:1~7. Jesus comforted His disciples that He is going to prepare room for them. When asked where He is going, Jesus answered “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. “.

One member shared that “Indeed there is so much hope in the promise and assurance of Jesus, which He tells His disciples. Not only are we able to know and see God through Jesus, because of God’s grace, Jesus also reassured His disciples that a place will be prepared for them. This is the true hope that God has given us. Beyond our current lives, there is greater glory in God and His promise. But apart from this, we can also really see Jesus’ love for His disciples in giving them so much comfort despite knowing that He will face the cross later.”.

Another member shared that “Even though Jesus was about to confront death, He did not get stuck in His own emotions but cared for His disciples. We can see the faith that is in Jesus is a faith that goes beyond death. His faith is not one that is easily shaken by the circumstances. Jesus’ faith is absolute trust and reliance on God. If we look at ourselves, our faith changes with the situation. When we are going through difficult times, it is easy for us to grumble God and even blame Him for our situation. But Jesus is not like that. Jesus said that He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Jesus is Word became flesh. He not only taught the truth, He also lived out the truth to set as example for us. When we look at Jesus, it is seeing Father God. “.
