9 March 2020, YEF Singapore meditates on John 16:5~11.
7 But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.
8 When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment:
9 about sin, because people do not believe in me;
10 about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer;
11 and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.
One member shared that “When the Holy Spirit comes, He will teach us sin, righteous and judgement. The Holy Spirit is a spirit of truth. When the light of truth shines, all darkness will be exposed. The Holy Spirit will reveal our sins to us. The Holy Spirit will teach us righteousness and we ought to walk the path of sanctification. The Holy Spirit is a spirit of truth, hence, it is natural for us to see more and more sins in us as we journey with God. But, we are not in despair but full of hope. When we see our sins, that is when we truly confess we are weak and need God’s power.
Mark 2:17 On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
Jesus had already overcome the world and paid for all our sins. In God, we have hope. God sent Holy Spirit to be with us and help us. “
